Since moving to Atlanta in June 2023, I have been in community with the underground Kiki Ballroom scene in the city. Currently, I am the Atlanta Princess of the Kiki House of Bodega. Vogue Femme is by far the most sophisticated movement style and vocabulary I have learned. Dancers must possess a mastery of codified vocabulary (otherwise known as the five elements), understanding of rhythm and syncopation, and proficiency in improvisation. Furthermore, it requires you to be confident and authentic with who you are. And to be comfortable with that image being seen and judged by your peers. It is a privilege for me to be a part of this space and an honor I hold with great pride.
