Mia Shocket (she/her) is a dance artist based in Atlanta, GA. She graduated from Emory University in 2024 with degrees in Dance and Movement Studies and Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology. Her choreographic and performance thesis in dance was awarded Highest Honors. In Spring 2026, she was the first Emory Dance Department alumna invited to re-stage her honors thesis with current Emory Dance Company students.
While at Emory, Mia performed in works by George Staib, Annalee Traylor, Julio Medina, Gregory Catellier, and her peers. Originally from Washington, D.C., she began her early dance training at C-Unit Studio in Maryland, where she studied a range of styles, focusing on technique and artistry, and competed with their nationally recognized dance company.
In Atlanta, she has danced professionally with choreographers including Leah Behm, Patsy Collins, Madison Lee, Xavier Lewis, Merryn McKeough, Meaghan Novoa, and Mary Beth Stinson. She is currently a company member with staibdance and Graham Shelor Dance.
Outside of dance, Mia teaches group fitness classes at CorePower Yoga and [solidcore].
