Artistic Collaborators

Lauren McCall is a composer and music educator from Atlanta, Georgia. She received her Ph.D. in music technology from the Georgia Institute of Technology and is an Assistant Research Professor at the University of Victoria’s School of Music. Lauren has had compositions performed around North America and Europe. This includes her piece for chamber ensemble and mobile phone orchestra, Contour Unveiled, and her composition Rain Music for baritone and piano. She studied with music technologists and composers, including Dr. Jason Freeman, Dr. John Fitz Rogers, and Dr. John Mallia. Lauren has collaborated with ensembles and musicians, including ensemble vim, guitarist Marek Orszulik, and violinist Caitlin Edwards. Her research interests include developing interactive mixed reality music systems and computer music, and her compositional process stems from a love of storytelling, joy in improvisation, and the importance of historical preservation. Along with composing, Lauren enjoys playing classical music and jazz on the clarinet and piano, spending time in nature, spending time with family and friends, and traveling. She is excited to collaborate with Graham Shelor Dance and create new interdisciplinary artwork!

Aubria Battle is a multidisciplinary artist whose work is grounded in dance, choreography, cinematography, lighting and sound design, and musicianship. She brings over two years of technical theater production experience, having worked with renowned organizations such as the American Dance Festival and Jacob’s Pillow. Her artistic practice reflects a deep passion for combining visual and auditory elements to create immersive performances.
